I chose to leave the pockets as is, and finished these up. These went together lickety-split! I set up my sewing machine for double needle, and did all the seam construction on the serger. It went to so quickly, just moving between the two.
I think for Stash Game, I'm going to set up all three machines, with the little Janome using single needle, the big one using double needle, and then the serger. I usually sew all items in color groups, so it will make the sewing go much faster, I think.
Anyway, this is an Ottobre pattern from 3/2006 I think. Super easy and fast shorts, and they look nice I think.

I found these in a stack of stuff I had cut out for William last year. He still wears the same size, so it's not a big deal. These are a navy linen. I had sewn on the front pockets (incorrectly, even!!) last year, when my double needle top stitching was still new. OOPS!!

I really love this pattern; I use it a lot, lengthened, for Grace's pants. (I know, it's a boy pattern...) I like that it is elastic-waisted, but with a bit of slouchy, sporty styling detail. She has had a number of them in corduroy the past two winters, but I'm going to have to start grading up if I want to keep using it. :(
He is soooo big! Wow! I may have to make Mari some of these shorts. Very nice!
