My daughter, Terah, gave birth to Rosemary Estefana, on Sept 25, at 3:05. She was 6lb, 9oz!! She's super adorable, just like her sister.
Here are some pics of the big event!
I went to pick up Audrey from Terah's as they were heading to the birthing center, around 11:30. Audrey, of course, was a bit tired.
She woke up when we got in the house, so she hung out in the Ergo for a while so I could cook! I was in charge of making the "after-birth feast" (not to be confused with the afterbirth feast, of which Terah opted out)
We had a big mess going on!! Nothing like cooking at midnight with a 1 year old!! PARTY!!
We made chicken enchiladas, rice, and beans.
And applesauce cake with caramel frosting. It's the only cake I KNEW was good and didn't require a mixer.
Audrey spent a lot of time standing around looking disheveled and sleepy.
As soon as the food was done, we tried to relax in the living room, waiting for Terah to be pushing before heading back. Audrey fell immediately asleep, then we got the message from Lacey (her doula) to come 17 minutes later. BIG REST!! So, we loaded up the food into the car, and headed back to the birth center. When I was 5 minutes away, Lacey text messaged me that the baby was here, at 3:05! WOW!
We got there and headed in! Terah was still in the birth tub holding Rosemary. This pic is a proof from her birth photographer.
Here's Mike holding skinny Minnie.
I got to hold her a lot, because Audrey had a lot of nursing to catch up on, and Terah wanted to eat.
Here she is, all swaddled up for the trip home, 2 1/2 hrs after her birth. Welcome, baby Rosemary!
