I love these pants!! I wore them all day today, but I didn't get a good detail of the fancy pockets.
These are out of some $1/yd stuff off the table at Golden D'or. It's lining for suit jackets and pockets, etc, and is pretty thin and coarse, but was perfect for trying out this pattern that I was suspicious of. I decided against the side seam pockets, as it seemed there was plenty of fabric already around my hips. I don't really need any extra bulk in that area.
I used drawcord elastic for the waist, and that's my jacket I made on Monday. I love that jacket, too.
McCall's 2586 oop, but I saw a couple on eBay.

I made these pants , a free download from Burda's German site but I think I'll have to go up a size next time. I can still wear these, but they're too tight to look great above the hip level.
Here's my giving a smack down to my zippered fly, which turned out GREAT!!! and easy. I don't know what my problem was. I did it exactly how it's done in Nancy Zieman's Busy Woman's Sewing Book. That book rocks.

The finished pants

The front tab.

The fly...nothing is wonky here, but I couldn't find a way to both display it AND take a good pic.

My fancy back pocket. The pattern called for a regular pleated pocket, but I had seen a pocket like this on another pair of pants and so I thought I'd try it. I like it!!

Can't wait for DAY THREE....oh yeah. That's today. hmmm, WOOT FOR day four!!!
