Cro-Magnon Man Strikes Again

While I was getting ready for my prenatal appointment yesterday, I let William have his snack in the bedroom. He was very quiet for most of it (he LOVES peanut butter sandwiches), but then I heard the often ominous "MMMMM, MMMMM" coming from his direction. I found him doing this: spearing his sandwich on a knitting needle and eating it! Peanut butter sandwich kabobs! YUM!!!!
He's such a goober!!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Ok, it was actually yesterday. We celebrated it last week, and I chose for my dinner to have Popeye's Fried Chicken, and I made myself a yummy spice cake with cream cheese frosting. It was SO good!!! Amanda and Emily came and gave me cards and gifts, and Doug gave me his card. It was a nice relaxing day.

On my ACTUAL birthday, I had a midwife appointment during the day and then my book study at church after supper, so I cooked a lasagna and scarfed some down as soon as Doug got home so I could be on my way.

It was a pretty nice birthday this year. Amanda gave me candy and a restaurant GC, Emily gave me a key chain (sorely needed!!!) and some things for my hair, my mom gave me a necklace and earrings set, my ILs gave me money, and I got cards from numerous family and friends. VERY nice!!!

I hope I can manage a blow out party next year when I turn 30. ;)

What I've Been Up To

***NOTHING****
Ok, that's not quite true. I've made a couple of things. I've been preoccupied with getting ready for the new baby, who is due in about 5 weeks or so. In addition to trying to prepare for that, I've been stocking my etsy store (and filling orders...YAY!!!!), doing a ton of alterations, making special order items for a couple of people, including MIL, participating in a monthly sewing swap AND a Project Runway Contest on my moms' board! Here are some of the things I've been working on, and please check out my etsy store! I also canned some peaches and more tomatoes, and went to a gazillion playdates.

I made this little outfit for Helen, which is what we call the fetus, as we don't yet know the sex. My friend Kat had cleaned out her craft closet and as usual I am the recipient of the delightful fruit of her efforts! The fabric to make this outfit was in a bag of scraps, which I threw together into a pretty little set for a newborn. If I have a boy all the girl stuff will be available for sale. I think I'm gonna make some little booties to go with this. From the scraps left from the scraps.
